The People's Transport

Atmostrack Power

Atmostrack power is immense. It is measured in kiloNewtons (kN), which is the standard power measurement for jet engines.

Atmostrack develops more than 40kN.

To give some comparison, the Eurofighter has two engines each delivering 90kN of thrust. So, Atmostrack provides almost a quarter of the power of the Eurofighter.

(Note that this power is developed with very low pressures - one and a half times atmospheric pressure, i.e. about the same as a bicycle tyre, positive pressure and 0.90 negative pressure is all it takes)

Because of the Atmostrack principle of 'little and often', Atmostrack passenger vehicles are relatively light in weight. This gives Atmostrack an enormous power to weight advantage over any other transportation technology.

Imagine a twelve passenger bus without the weight of engine, transmission, drive axles, fuel tank or fuel being propelled by this kind of power!

Experiencing Atmostrack power

An engineering study we commissioned returned the pleasant result that Atmostrack acceleration is constant.

This constrasts nicely to current technologies in which acceleration is variable, dependent upon power curves of diesel engines, petrol engines or electric motors.

(The engineering study also confirmed that at least 20% of the power used in braking is put back into the accumulators)

With 40kN of smooth, quiet and pollution-free power on tap, the acceleration of Atmostrack vehicles is applied appropriately according to the type of vehicle. For example, the acceleration of a passenger vehicle carrying passengers is restricted to the comfort level of passengers, whereas an empty passenger vehicle can be given a much higher rate of acceleration in order to get the empty vehicle to where passengers want it as quickly as possible.

Similarly, freight vehicles can be given a higher rate of acceleration thereby using the track for a shorter time.

Atmostrack's Gradient Superiority

Atmostrack's power is used entirely for accelerating and moving vehicles. No power is lost in a power train (transmissions, gear sets etc). Power is applied directly to the vehicles via the drive tube and not at all via the wheels. Wheels are used solely to support the vehicle.

The implications for this are obvious and give Atmostrack the overwhelming competitive advantage, especially when applied to gradient. No power is transmitted to the track through the wheels and therefore Atmostrack is not limited by gradient.

In fact, Atmostrack is capable of moving a four tonne vehicle vertically upwards.

Exploiting Atmostrack's Gradient Capability

Atmostrack will quickly open up new development and settlements in geologically stable (i.e. not on the side of a volcano!) areas. When these new developments and settlements are in proximity to water running downhill, a complete transportation system can be envisioned powered solely by borrowing the water for part of its downhill journey.

Not quite a perpetual motion machine, but getting close!

Developers who understand this will want to partner with Atmostrack in opening up entire new areas for settlement and industry.
